Schug Moon Mountain Cabernet Franc "Rancho Salina Vineyard" 2019

High above the southern Sonoma Valley within the Moon Mountain District AVA lies the terraced vineyard of Rancho Salina, where this Cabernet Franc is grown. The rocky, red volcanic soil is ideal for ripening this well-structured and full-bodied wine has a deep ruby color and abundant varietal notes of dark cherry, red plum, and sweet fruit. Some barrel fermentation, all wine aged 22 months in 40% new and 60% one-to-three-year-old French oak barrels. Soft tannins and a hint of chocolate give this wine a long lingering finish. Serve with cheese, red meat, or game and earthy mushroom dishes.
