Robert Mondavi Winery Napa Valley Chardonnay 2021

The 2021 vintage was excellent and mild. After rains in January and February, the growing season remained dry. Temperatures were moderate and the weather optimal at bud break in April and bloom in May. Weather remained even through summer and harvest, resulting in a lower-than-average yield with small, deeply concentrated grapes. The fruit was harvested by hand between August 26 and October 16, as each site reached its optimal phenolic ripeness. The juice was fermented and aged sur lies for six months in French oak (15% new) to add a subtle toasty character.
